We have been very busy in the last couple of months setting up the club. Now we are pleased to announce that we have an amazing team of talented Ukrainian professional teachers and psychologists, as well as other professionals who helped us to set up the club.
The Sunflowers Kids Club is almost ready to open and the team is really looking forward to welcoming children once we open on July 13th. We have planned our activities with huge enthusiasm for our children and teenagers.
Every month within the first three weeks kids will have subjects, like mindfulness, art and music. In the fourth week, there will be something new and exciting – an expert coming to do a new session -the first one will be Eidetics memory. Yes, we didn’t know what it was before too, but it is very interesting!
Sometimes, we will have a trips out to some exciting places, like Equine Therapy Centre, Elementary Dog Park and more! If you would like to host a group of our Ukrainian kids from the club for a trip out, get in touch!

Children’s parents will not be bored. In the club there will be a support cafe, where they can relax, make friends, support each other and do some focused activities with our Psychologist, relaxing massage and lots more.

We have had an amazing support from the members of the public and different local organisations. Annina Diston have designed our beautiful branding. Cathie Rose Heart has designed our website! Gear4Music to have provided a range of musical instruments for our music sessions.
Ciara McCabe has been doing a challenge for the last 85 days. She was walking every day the distance from York to Lviv virtually. She has been on her walks out in the countryside near York but calculating so that the total eventually would be all the way to Lviv.
She has been raising money for Ukraine so half of her donations have gone to Red Cross. The other half have gone to the Sunflower Kids Club (hyperlink to our website). Therefore we are so grateful for all of her donations and we look forward to July 14th, when we can join her on the walk around York next time.
We have been featured recently on BBC One Look North (Yorkshire) news. Journalists have visited our Club to interview our team and Ukrainian parents awaiting to bring their kids to our club. You can see the coverage video below.
We are so anticipating the opening of our club and cannot wait to see you all in our Sunflowers Kids Club!
Please help us to deliver good quality support for Ukrainian children and their parents by donating here.

Lena Henderson organized a wonderful place to support and care for Ukrainian children.
Its amazing, this place! Can’t wait to see my daughter gathers together with other Ukrainian teens. She misses greatly that part of her life – being able to communicate freely in her own language, to understand and be understood. A huge thanks to everyone involved in organising this place for us!
Nataliya, we are so glad that you and your daughter have found our club so helpful! We look forward to see you both soon again! 🙂
